Jeb has joined BHGI as a Naval Architect. He graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. with an M.S.E. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.

(BHGI) would like to introduce Taylor Smith, BHGI’s most recent addition to its naval architecture and marine engineering practice. Taylor has joined BHGI as a Naval Architect. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2019. Taylor is registered in the state of Washington as an Engineer-In-Training.
Bristol, Rhode Island – September 22nd, 2020 – The BREAKER II was recently delivered to the New York Power Authority (NYPA) in Buffalo, New York. Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was selected by NYPA through a competitive bidding process to design and oversee construction of two (2) new tug vessels. The first tug, the JONCAIRE II, has already been built, delivered, and is currently in service. BHGI developed and revised the BREAKER II specifications and bid drawing package in close collaboration with the operators, including significant detailed system design to provide improved ergonomics for the crew. The BREAKER II was built at Blount Boats in Warren, RI where BHGI provided construction oversight services on behalf of NYPA and visited the yard on a weekly basis, as it is only ten minutes away from the BHGI office.

(BHGI) would like to introduce Kendall Auth, BHGI’s most recent addition to its naval architecture and marine engineering practice. Kendall has joined BHGI as a Naval Architect. Kendall graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Academy in New London, CT with a B.S. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 2015. She is also a registered Engineer-In-Training in the state of Connecticut.

Bristol, Rhode Island – March 3rd, 2020 – Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was recently awarded an Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) for naval architecture and marine engineering services for the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Philadelphia District, Marine Design Center. This contract continues BHGI’s partnership with the Marine Design Center (MDC). Some of the projects BHGI has worked on for the USACE include, but are not limited to, retrofits, finite element analyses, electric load analyses, vibration analyses, and computational fluid dynamics analyses as well as barge, towboat and dredge design.
Bristol, Rhode Island – February 6th, 2020 – On January 29th, Greg Beers, P.E., President, and Cory Wood, Vice-President, of Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) gave a presentation at the SNAME New England Section meeting called “Designing and Building Center Console Boats”. They spoke about the design and build process of the new Vanquish 23 Bristol Harbor Series. Vanquish Bristol Harbor Series are semi-custom premium vessels, from 21 to 23 feet, that include center console and cuddy cabin models. They discussed the design tradeoffs necessary to balance the demands of safety and efficiency with a range of potential customers and applications. Additionally, they spoke about several of their recent experiences with advanced technologies including LNG and energy storage (batteries), and work for NASA.
Bristol, Rhode Island – August 6th, 2019 – Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was contracted by the New York Power Authority (NYPA) to provide naval architecture and marine engineering services to review and analyze a Canadian Coast Guard buoy for required internal ballast and mooring in order to secure the buoy moorings in tailrace waters. NYPA’s fast water warning buoys had reached the end of their life cycle.
