Bristol, Rhode Island – February 6^th, 2020 – On January 29th, Greg Beers, P.E., President, and Cory Wood, Vice-President, of Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) gave a presentation at the SNAME New England Section meeting called “Designing and Building Center Console Boats”. They spoke about the design and build process of the new Vanquish 23 Bristol Harbor Series. Vanquish Bristol Harbor Series are semi-custom premium vessels, from 21 to 23 feet, that include center console and cuddy cabin models. They discussed the design tradeoffs necessary to balance the demands of safety and efficiency with a range of potential customers and applications. Additionally, they spoke about several of their recent experiences with advanced technologies including LNG and energy storage (batteries), and work for NASA.

Bristol, Rhode Island – August 6^th, 2019 – Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was contracted by the New York Power Authority (NYPA) to provide naval architecture and marine engineering services to review and analyze a Canadian Coast Guard buoy for required internal ballast and mooring in order to secure the buoy moorings in tailrace waters. NYPA’s fast water warning buoys had reached the end of their life cycle.

Bristol, RI – June 28th, 2019 – Millions of dollars of goods are transported up and down the Mississippi every year. This transportation is made possible, in part, by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Mat Sinking Unit and its crew, who work tirelessly each season to protect the riverbanks with concrete mats and prevent erosion. The Mat Sinking Unit was built in 1940, widened in 1960 and is being replaced over the next several years with new and improved plant. The new design will double the number of mat squares that can be placed in a season. USACE Vicksburg District (MVK), USACE Marine Design Center (MDC), SIA Solutions LLC (SIA), Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI), and the National Robotics and Engineering Center (NREC) are working together to design a new Mat Boat, which will increase production rates and improve the safety of the crew.

Bristol, Rhode Island – November 19^th, 2018 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Marine Design Center (MDC) will soon be releasing a sources sought notice for the construction of the Mat Boat, a 188’ x 74’ x 10’ deck barge, for the Mat Sinking Unit (MSU) located on the Mississippi River.

Bristol, Rhode Island – August 27th, 2018 – Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was recently contracted by Sayville Ferry Service, Inc. located in Sayville, NY to provide the design of an aluminum monohull high speed ferry for 400 passengers and cargo providing service from Sayville to Fire Island.

Bristol, Rhode Island – August 24, 2018 – Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) is pleased to announce that TOTE Maritime has taken delivery of a 232’, 2,200m3 liquified natural gas (LNG) bunker barge. CLEAN JACKSONVILLE is the first LNG bunker barge to be built in North America. BHGI was responsible for the design and engineering of the barge.
