Double-Hull Oil Barge

Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was contracted by Reinauer Transportation Co., in Staten Island, NY to provide a design for a 311’ x 68’ x 24.5’ double hull oil barge. The vessel was built at SENESCO Marine in North Kingstown, RI. BHGI was responsible for the preliminary and detail design of the vessel. BHGI retained the facilities at the University of Michigan to perform a model test to compare bow options to ensure that the dynamic tow stability of the barge was suitable. The barge meets the structural requirements of ABS/USCG and OPA90 Double Hull Requirements, and is classed ABS Maltese Cross A1 Oil Tank Barge.
