Passenger Vessels

Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was contracted by the Puerto Rico Maritime Transportation Authority (PRMTA) to perform fleet management of a number of ferries. BHGI provided contract assistance, construction oversight, quality control, and owner's representative services for two new vessel construction projects governed by Subchapter K of Title 46 of the Code of Federal Regulations. BHGI also provided contract assistance, construction oversight and quality control, and owner's representative services. BHGI did not design the vessels but did prepare the performance specifications and assisted the PRMTA through the bid process including evaluations of technical abilities of all of the bidders. BHGI provided support after the contracts were awarded including, oversight of the shipyards schedule, regulatory plan review and certification, change orders, and progress payments. Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. personnel also conducted regular ship inspection, dock trials, sea trials, maintained project records and life-cycle management for the vessels.
