High-Value Cargo Barge

Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was contracted by the U.S. Army Corps, Marine Design Center, Philadelphia District, to evaluate the structure of the PEGASUS hull for transport and load on/off of new Structural Test Assemblies and The New Core Stage for NASA’s new Space Launch System. BHGI worked with the Marine Design Center to design the modifications for the lengthening of the PEGASUS from 260’ to 310’ in order to carry new larger rocket boosters on ocean transport from Louisiana to Cape Kennedy Florida. BHGI continues to provide design and engineering support to the USACE for the NASA barge PEGASUS.
