Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. has the capability to examine complex structures using advanced computational methods such as finite element analysis (FEA), particularly in cases where conventional analysis methods would be difficult or time-consuming. Using the latest FEA software and techniques, we analyze both existing vessels and our own original designs. Analyses can be performed for an entire vessel or focused on specific areas of interest, such as foundations expected to experience high loads. The level of analytical fidelity is defined and agreed upon ain advance, and each analysis is carried out efficiently and professionally.
Our FEA capabilities allow us to evaluate design questions quickly while mainaining a high degree of confidence in the results. We regularly perform linear static, nonlinear static, buckling, contact, and transient dynamic analyses. Our experience also includes fluid-structure interaction studies in a variety of operating conditions, including still water and a range of sea states.
