Senior Naval Architect
Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. is seeking a SENIOR NAVAL ARCHITECT
Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) is a full service design and engineering company located in Bristol, Rhode Island. BHGI was founded by University of Michigan naval architects in 1993 and has been continuously providing engineering support to both vessel builders and owners since its inception.
Recent and current projects include the design and engineering of North America’s first LNG bunker barge and a number of tasks through an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ranging from conceptual vessel designs; to biodiesel and LNG studies; to detail design and analysis of vessels. Other recent experience includes the design of several 80,000 BBL ATB unit oil barges and the design and construction support for two new tug vessels.
BHGI engineers enjoy a casual but fast paced work environment and seek a self-starter for this position. Some travel required.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- B.S.E. degree in naval architecture and marine engineering
- P.E. license in naval architecture and marine engineering
- excellent communication skills
- project management experience
- demonstrated interest in small commercial vessel design
- thorough knowledge of AutoCAD
- boating experience and interest
