Double-Hull Oil Barge

Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. was contracted by Conrad Industries, Inc. to develop the design of a manned oceans, 361’ x 62’ x 24.5’, 55,000 BBL double hull oil barge for Vane Line Bunkering, Inc. The construction took place at Conrad Shipyard in Amelia, LA. The barges primary purpose is to transport asphalt and other heavy oils. It is equipped with a complete loading and discharging system in 10 tank compartments and is able to carry two products simultaneously. A thermal heating system was installed to maintain the asphalt at loaded temperature.
