Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. has designed passenger vessels ranging from high speed catamaran ferries to 600 passenger only ferries. Other passenger vessel designs include dinner vessels and paddlewheelers. Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. has also provided owner’s representation and construction oversight services for passenger and cargo / passenger vessels for both public and private operators.
Our team is equally comfortable working for shipyards and commercial vessel owners. We are well versed in the myriad of regulations that govern passenger vessel design, including U.S. Coast Guard Subchapters T, K, H and R; American Bureau of Shipping Rules; SOLAS; and tonnage regulations.
In addition to the aforementioned designs, Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. has provided technical consulting for all manner of passenger vessels, and commercial vessels in general. Projects have included deadweight surveys, inclining experiments (stability tests), stability analyses, bow door structural modifications, seakeeping analyses and performance prediction.
Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. has also designed modifications to, and provided onsite representation for, several passenger vessel refits and midlife extensions. These projects have included construction oversight and project management, and major projects have occurred in Rhode Island, Louisiana and Texas.
Further, Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. has provided construction oversight for several new build programs, including small passenger only ferries built in Mississippi and Rhode Island; and larger passenger only, and cargo / passenger ferries built in Rhode Island and Louisiana.
We have also been involved in many designs and consulting projects for small passenger vessels (those under 100 Gross Registered Tons [GRT]) including ferries, dinner vessels and water taxis.
