Special ProjectsBristol Harbor Group, Inc. has completed several turnkey design-build projects over the last five years for marine defense contractors. We deem these “Special Projects” as they include acquisition and or construction of vessels in addition to design, and allow us to provide our clients with a turnkey solution to their vessel design and construction, or design and acquisition needs.
Bristol Harbor Group, Inc.’s role in these Special Projects has included very complex design and analysis tasks accompanying the construction of new or retrofitted vessels to carry very specific, high value cargoes. We have been able to design and build, or retrofit, each special project under budget and on time. Specific responsibilities that BHGI has assumed for these Special Projects includes, but is not limited to:

- Construction Oversight
- Construction and Modification (of several barges)
- Towing and Delivery (of several barges)
- Dry Docking
In addition to this work, Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. has completed designs for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard as a subcontractor to marine defense contractors, and also for the U.S. Army as a prime contractor. Our team of naval architects and marine engineers bring a practical eye to complex problems for these government clients, and our focus on simplicity and efficiency is well respected in this community.
Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. was hired by a defense contractor to purchase, modify and deliver a deck barge to carry a high value cargo. The barge, “EINSTEIN” was purchased in the Georgia and brought to SENESCO in Rhode Island where she was converted from a simple inland deck barge to a transportation barge capable of meeting the U.S. Navy design data sheet for surface vessel stability (DDS079-1).
Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. was hired by a defense contractor to design, build and deliver a deck barge capable of meeting the U.S. Navy design data sheet for surface vessel stability (DDS079-1).
